PREVIOUS EVANGELIUM CONFERENCES: 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011

Previous Evangelium Conferences have been a great success, attracting more than 170 participants and a wide range of speakers from Europe and the United States. Young people attending the conferences have described them as ‘inspirational’, a great opportunity to meet with other Catholics and a source of renewed hope and vigour for their own faith.

Three DVDs have also been filmed at previous conferences: Arise Once More: Reviving Catholic Britain, Confession: the Forgotten Sacrament and Keys of the Kingdom: Understanding the Papacy, produced by St Anthony Communications.

PRAISE FOR PREVIOUS EVANGELIUM CONFERENCES:

  • It was very helpful to me to be able to spend a weekend away concentrating totally on my faith, with periods of adoration and prayer.
  • The conference inspired me to evangelise once again. I feel so encouraged to meet such lovely people who have also taught me so much.
  • An opportunity to receive great theological and spiritual richness in a short time. All of the talks were very helpful, packed with useful knowledge.
  • The Apologetics Panel was the highlight … tremendous value in terms of hearing how to answer difficult questions and defend the faith.
  • It was very valuable to be made aware of the wider network of Catholics in Britain and beyond.
  • This conference restored and rekindled my desire to be part of the re-evangelisation of England, and the rest of Great Britain and Ireland.
  • Inspiring talks, very inspirational homilies! A wonderful blend of the head and heart – talks and workshops that are intellectually challenging as well as being focused on prayer and the sacraments…It was so wonderful to meet so many good people – it gives me lots of hope for the future!
  • The most important aspect for me was meeting like minded young and professional Catholics and hearing material from professional speakers. It has given me a boost to evangelise and try to live a faithful Catholic life!
  • It was spiritually uplifting to mix with Catholics who are so devoted to Christ and His Church. It was also a great opportunity to hear of other apostolates and to network…Wonderful all round.
  • The conferences were really excellent. I enjoyed gaining an appreciation of the philosophical richness of our faith.
  • The three days have been fantastic - well-organised and full of inspiring priests and other great witnesses.
  • What I did know was confirmed, what I did not know or understand I am now inspired to learn.
  • The best weekend of my life. It was really an answer to prayer. Before I could say, “Lord, I love you and accept the Church,” now I can say, “Lord I love you and I love your Church.”
  • All of our talks, discussions etc. were permeated by prayer. I'm leaving here rejuvenated both in my own faith and feel more equipped in sharing the riches of the Catholic faith. Please hold another conference next year!
  • Thank you very, very much - it has been priceless - I would love to come again! God bless you for organising this!
  • The high point for me was the way Holy Mass was celebrated. So much love and reverence.
  • Very high quality of speakers - fluent, full of interest and humour, and orthodox. A fine mix of people, all from different background but with an implicit unity of approach to their faith. Very encouraging and inspiring.
  • It gave me the inspiration and encouragement to challenge myself more, to dive deeper in searching my vocation and courage to be more outward about defending my faith.

[ SPECIAL NOTICE SUMMER 2010. BEWARE OF A SPEAKER SCAM. Do not respond to fraudulent emails inviting recipients to speak at the Evangelium Conference for substantial sums of money. The writer, calling himself the 'REV.FR Thompson Smith', claims to offer money and plane tickets and invites recipients to contact a particular email address (claiming to be at the 'British High Commission') to secure a costly work permit. These invitations do not originate from anyone connected the Evangelium Project or the Catholic Truth Society. This scam has also been targetting other UK based Christian conferences recently. ]
